Wandering and musing

I've been exploring around my home town in mid-Devon and about 3 weeks ago I found a new track. Well, it's new to me, the track itself may be quite ancient, I'm not sure but I have been researching more about it.

It is probably an access track to an old farmhouse, since many footpaths started their lives linking one farm to the next, or to a main thoroughfare. It runs north west to south east on the approach to a ridge, so you can peer through the beeches and view the sun setting over the Exe Valley. As I find out more about it, and photograph it as it changes, I'll post more photos here.
